Medical Associates of the Shoals will Deliver Classroom Supplies to Colbert County Teachers through Doctors and Teachers in Harmony Initiative

Medical Associates of the Shoals, P.C., will soon take to the streets of Colbert County delivering bags of classroom supplies to teachers. White cargo vans bearing the Doctors and

Teachers in Harmony logo will make stops at all schools in Colbert County, starting with the Muscle Shoals City School System on October 5. The next stops will be the Colbert County Schools System and Covenant Christian School on October 9, the Tuscumbia City Schools System on October 10, and the Sheffield City Schools System on November 16.

Certified classroom instructors will receive a bag of items that teachers often pay for out of their own pockets. The bags will contain dry-erase markers, pens, hand sanitizer, highlighters, disinfecting wipes, tissues, Post-it notes, colored paper, and more. Each teacher will have the opportunity to receive the supplies by simply signing a list indicating that they personally received their bag.

According to Josh Vacik, M.D., the Doctors and Teachers in Harmony Initiative is a fun way for the physicians and staff to express their gratitude to local teachers. “We love providing these bags of supplies. Too often, we hear about the amount of money teachers spend out of their own pockets for essential classroom supplies. Studies show that better education leads to better health, which leads to better quality of life. As part of this community, we are more than happy to help our teachers provide the tools for achieving success.”
